Who asked you, anyway? 12x16 Golden OPEN Acrylic on Canvas from life
PS, I'm not usually this mean-looking, at least I try not to be! (If you repeatedly interrupt me while I'm painting, though, you will most likely get a glimpse of this!)
Thanks Kathleen! I'm glad you think it's natural, that's always my goal in portraiture...
Everyday another aspect of the expression dominates for me; when I painted, I saw weary, but determined, conviction, when I posted, anger, today as I visit, I see sadness...interesting, those emotions are all on the same road to what this has become, a painting about not waiting for anyone else's approval, I have things to do...(meanwhile those someones are out there, trying to get me to want their approval, that's who I'm glaring at ;)

ReplyDeleteWow! I really like this.
ReplyDeleteA very natural study and not fluffy.
(we can be serious can't we?)
Beautiful detail.

ReplyDeleteI read all that in this portrait as well.
You get 'em girl!
That is the stand to take with your art and your life.
